Most of the 36 coins were minted during the reign of Edward the Confessor, one of the last Anglo-Saxon kings to rule England and during whose childhood the country faced Viking raids and invasions.
Two earlier rulers - Edward's father, Aethelred, and the Viking king Cnut - are also represented in the coins.
John Crowe and David O'Hare found the coins in May while metal-detecting, with permission, on private land. They were later studied by U.S.-based researcher Kristin Bornholdt Collins, an expert on Viking Age coins from the Isle of Man...

Looks like Florida could have a late season hurricane. We'll see.
AccuWeather experts are issuing urgent warnings as a powerful hurricane is expected to develop in the Caribbean Sea this weekend, potentially reaching Category 3 status and posing a threat to Florida next week.
“All of the conditions are coming together to allow this storm to intensify rapidly. There is plenty of moisture, low wind shear and very warm water temperatures. We don’t see any obstacles that could prevent this storm from exploding into a major hurricane,” said DaSilva. "This storm will likely become our 12 hurricane of the season, which is a testament to the supercharged nature of the season. The historical average is seven hurricanes.”

Temperatures could drop into the 60s this weekend after two cold fronts make their way through South Florida over the next few days.
The first cold front began pushing through South Florida on Wednesday morning, though National Weather Service Miami Meteorologist Ana Torres-Vasquez called it a “very weak cool front.” She said the only impacts South Florida will see from that front are windy conditions, with wind speeds between 15 and 20 mph, and a temperature drop of two to three degrees.
“The secondary front that we’re looking at potentially coming through between Friday and Saturday would be a cooler, more typical cold front, so to speak,” Torres-Vasquez said. “That would usher in much cooler conditions for our region.”
High temperatures will be in the low 80s and low temperatures will hover around the high 60s over the weekend, she said. Wind speeds will lower too, leaving behind slightly breezy conditions...

Not bad. We are still having some high tides and there will be enough wind shifts in the next week or so
that I'd expect some scattered erosion.
