Beach Gold Found by Michael T.

Mike T here. Took my fiancé's family down to Juno Beach recently to hunt for some sharks teeth and do some metal detecting as they are from Alabama and don’t get to the beach much. We stopped at a few spots along double roads until we found a washed out area North of the pier. A wonderful day with a few nice sharks teeth found as well as a very old engagement ring and a first for me…. a gold tooth! I’ve found a few silver ones but gold is better lol! Happy Hunting to all.

The Public Trust Doctrine

Navigable rivers, lakes, and tidelands are held in a public trust which imposes a legal duty upon the state to preserve and control them for public navigation, fishing, swimming, and other lawful uses. Because the essential feature of the doctrine is that lands beneath navigable water bodies are not held for the purpose of sale or conversion into private ownership, strict limitations are imposed on the state’s ability to transfer the water bodies, or parts thereof, into private hands. Now incorporated into the Florida Constitution, the Florida Supreme Court has stated that this constitution provision represents a codification of prior case law. The doctrine is an expression of an ancient rule; water bodies capable of being utilized for useful public purposes were recognized and protected as public property by the laws of Spain, England, and even ancient Rome...

Here is the link for more about that.

Not long ago I did a related post and pointed out that the dividing line is often the Mean High Water Line.

These are things that detectorists should understand.

Archaeologists working on the decades-long excavation of Hechingen-Stein, a Roman villa complex in southwestern Germany, have unearthed more than 100 fragments of a giant votive monument.

While the precise form of the dedication to the Roman gods remains unclear, the monument would have originally been built out of many stone blocks laid one atop the other. Archaeologists believe only a small number of the monument’s blocks have been found and it already appears larger than similar structures so far discovered in Raetia and Upper Germania, regions occupied by the Romans on and off from the 1st century C.E. through the 5th century C.E...

The remains of Rafael lingers int he middle of the Gulf.  We are being more influenced by a low pressure zone east of the Bahamas.

As you can see, we'll still have some surf, but continuing east swells.

Thank You Veterans,
