4/21/25 Report - Hundreds of Spanish Shipwreck Treasures Soon Available. The Order Behind Things Acknowledged by Top Scientists.

Written by the Treasureguide for the exclusive use of the Treasure Beaches Report.

Here is an excerpt from a email from Sedwick Coins concerning the upcoming auction.

Several important collections stand out in this auction, literally from A to Z. Probably the most significant is the Almenara Collection of Colonial Peruvian Gold Coins, including Lima cobs and Potosí bust gold (as the latter mint fell under Peru in colonial times). The run of Lima cob 1 escudos seen here is the most complete ever offered, and the bust series from both Lima and Potosí contain many “finest knowns” and important pedigrees. And at the end of the alphabet you will find the Zbar Collection of Maravillas coins.

You will also find several great offerings of colonial Peruvian silver coins (O’Brien Collection), as well as Colombian colonial and Republic gold and silver (JEAS and Becerra Collections), pillar dollars of most of the colonial mints (Brameld Collection), Mexican cobs (Hubbard Collection), Potosí cob 8 reales plated in the Calbetó reference, Potosí cob 4 reales (Ponte Collection), and even paper money (Busto Collection) from Cuba, the Dominican Republic, and Disney (yes, Walt Disney World is like its own country).

In addition, there are several important one-off coin trophies scattered throughout that should not be missed, even if you are not a buyer but want to witness numismatic history being made:

-Lot 495, a Mexico 3 reales of Charles-Joanna in XF 40

-Lot 1026, a Costa Rica gold 20 pesos dated 1873 in UNC details

-Lot 1037, a Santo Domingo 4 reales of Charles-Joanna in AU 55

-Lot 1399, a Spanish East Indies proclamation 2 reales dated 1747 in VF20

As always, we also have many important shipwreck gold cobs, including the following standouts:

-Lot 22, a 1715-Fleet Mexico 8 escudos 1714 struck with a Royal obverse die in MS 63

-Lot 60, a 1715-Fleet Cuzco 2 escudos dated 1698 in MS 63

-Lot 124, an Atocha Seville 2 escudos dated 1619 in AU55

Ingots include two massive (each almost 1000 troy oz) Atocha silver bars Class -Factor 1.0 (lots 92 and 93) as well as a 21.5-troy oz gold “finger” bar from the “Golden Fleece Wreck” (lot 85).

But best of all, a showpiece for the ages, is lot 1665, an ornate pendant (reliquary or noble neck-badge) made of gold, diamonds, and emeralds from the Tolosa (1724), a fabulous jewel that appeared in multiple publications in the late 1970s and early 1980s.

I once reported in this blog on the book Afterlife Experiments, by Gary Schwartz, who, like I, was conducting biofeedback research back in the 1970s. I thought that book was good even though I felt there were some shortcomings and some other possible explanations that could have explained the results of the experiments After reading Dr Schwartz's book, I sent him an email making a couple suggestions. I can understand the omission of the ancient spiritual traditions because it wouldn't have been well received by many scientists at the time, and much of what he was trying to do was provide a scientific explanation for parapsychological phenomena. But I also suggested that he consider some ideas by the pioneer psychologist William James. That omission was not really surprising either, since those ideas were presented for a lecture series at Yale University in 1898 and was probably printed in very limited numbers. I had picked up a copy somewhere (probably a thrift store) and read it several times. The lecture by James is entitled: Two Supposed Objections to the Doctrine of Immortality.

I can't say that Schwartz took my suggestions but both of my comments concerning the first book were prominent in the second book.  In his newer book, Schwartz mentions James several times while not mentioning him once in the previous book, I would presume is rare and well over a hundred years old.  Schwartz also gets into world religions in the newer book, which is not as surprising, but a definite change from his first book. By the way, Dr. Schwartz is a Professor Emeritus of Psychology, Medicine, Neurology, Psychiatry and Surgery at the University of Arizona where he is the director of the Laboratory for Advances in Consciousness and Health.

You might remember the post I did on the FBI report on remote viewing and a few other related follow-up comments in this blog on the subject.  I've also occasionally presented a few of my own thoughts on the related subjects of consciousness and intuition.  See Treasure Beaches Report: Pt. 2. (2020 and Beyond). : 3/29/25 Report - Remote Viewing: Research and Application from CIA and Other Research Institutions. Intuition and Metal Detecting.

If you browse YouTube these days, I think you'll see a number of videos suggesting that scientists from the fields physics and math are writing proofs that God exists. There seems to be a new and growing trend for scientists accepting and discussing God as part of the equation. If you browse YouTube, I think you'll confirm that for yourself.

While I don't find all of Scwartz's arguments convincing, he does provide some interesting thoughts might reflect a changing world view that acknowledges God in science.  Of course, that is not entirely new, but it has not been popular in modern times.

The subtitle of Schwartz's newer book is How Science is Discovering God in Everything Including Us. That is a good summary of the book. When he refers to God, and notice he spells it as G.O.D., he talks about a guiding, organizing designing principle that is found throughout reality. He does not promote a religion or religion at all. Rather he is open to discovering evidence of that guiding organizing designing principle that seems to pervade everything and suggests G.O.D. is a matter of evidence that can be included in scientific studies of the future.

Schwartz says,"... the evidence to date overwhelmingly rejects chance alone as a plausible explanation of order and evolution in the universe and strongly supports the conclusion that some sort of intelligent G.O.D. process exists in the universe."   There are always causes and an order whether you are looking at weather patterns or how sand and other items get distributed on a beach.  It is man's pleasure to discover the order in things.

As scientists struggle with new paradigms to explain their observations, you might want to investigate what that means for you.

Nothing big next week.  Only four foot or less of surf and moderate tides.
