11/2/26 Report - Treasure Coast Finds and Hunts from Last Week. F. P. Beach Accesses and Parks Closed Mon. 11/2.

Written by the Treasureguide for the exclusive use of the Treasure Beaches Report.

I have to start today with an apology and explanation.

I just landed last night.  I'm back on the Treasure Coast.

Life took me out of the area for the week starting last Sunday.  Wouldn't you know it!

Sometimes life doesn't go as you'd want it to.  In fact, sometimes things go just the opposite.

My flight back to Palm Beach took all day.  Flights delayed, flew around in hold pattern until had to land in another airport and still couldn't get back to DJT for a very long time.  So I made it home 2 minutes before midnight when I was supposed to arrive about five or six hours earlier.

Here is how cruel life can be.  Of course, I would have loved to hit the beaches this week but I was scheduled to fly out the Sunday all the wind and rain began.  And here is the kicker, just to rub it in, the flight number was 1715.  Coincidence is one thing, but that is too much.

So not only was I over a thousand miles away from the Treasure Coast all week, but it seemed life was trying to tell me something and ended it with the worst flight delays of my 56 years of flying.

On top of all that, my treasureguide email was not working on the computer I had with me, so I just got all your recent emails about 5 AM This morning.

So, finally!  Back to why you are here.

The photo at the top of the page shows a cob find from last week.  It was found by an anonymous reader who also found lead and musket balls.

Al C. found the ring below and wondered about its possible age.

Ring Found by Al C.

Not long ago I did a post on determining the age rings.  I'll have to give it additional attention some other time.  I'm just starting to catching up on a lost week this morning after about four hours of sleep.

Below is a report from Michael T.

Hey, it’s Mike T from Stuart. Figured I would share our hunt from Frederick Douglas on Wednesday afternoon after the big blow. My wife and I made the drive up from Stuart, hoping the rain would hold off and for the most part it did we got there about one and hunted till five chasing the low tide out. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen this beach cut this far back. We were really hoping for some Spanish Silver, but it was not the day for it for us.

My wife did find her first real 14 karat gold and she was so tickled about that. The little pendant came out of the ground as shiny as the day it was new and she was super excited!

Lots of targets including a very old silver ring with a clear stone and a stainless steel ring.

I’m sure someone found some silver in the last few days from the Spanish fleet and I know our day will come!

Looks like it’s going to be a good hunting season with lots of sand missing! Hope you get out there and get some time swinging!

Below are the pictures Michael included to document his hunt and finds.

I received many other emails but this will be my quick catchup post for now. I plan to get back to some of the other emails and topics in the future.

Many beach closures were reported last week up around and including Ambersands.

Thanks to all who sent emails and shared their finds and experiences of the week that I sadly missed out on.

Maybe before long I'll be able to catch up with some of the other emails and questions I received but right now I'm going to hop back into bed.

Good hunting,
