7/14/22 Report - Detectorists Find Gold Coins. Holy Relics Returned. 1915 Coca Cola Bottle Find.

...Damon and Denise Pye, a pair of local metal detectorists, found the first of several gold coins in 2017, after local farmers finished plowing the soil at the end of the harvest season...  The haul has been dubbed "The Broads Hoard"... 

"The first year, [the Pyes] found four coins, and the following year one more, and then they found a few more the year after that. They've said to me that they think they found the last one, and I always say, 'I bet not.' They're slowly coming to the surface; I think there's more."...

The Catholic Church was shocked last month when an ornate golden artefact said to contain drops of Jesus's blood was stolen shortly before an annual celebration in northern France...

Six weeks later, a Dutch art sleuth has described how the relics were handed over to him in an elaborate operation.

Arthur Brand says he will now give them to police to return them to the abbey.

"Seven to eight per cent of stolen art is returned and much of it is destroyed. In this case, I think the thief had no idea what it was," he told the BBC...

Yesterday I picked up a Nov. 16, 1915 patented Jacksonville Coca Cola bottle in very nice condition.

These bottles were patened in 1915, but there is no evidence of them being used until 1917.
