Collectors usually prefer coins in mint condition.  One exception is when a coin is toned.

Toning occurs naturally over time. It is mostly the result of oxygen and/or sulfur reacting with the coin's metal. The toning process can be accelerated by heat, moisture and a variety of chemicals in the environment. Some of the most harmful chemicals to coins can be found in cheap coin holders and coin folders.   Source: Coin Toning Definition, Discussion and Effect on Value (thesprucecrafts.com)

The opinion on such coins is not always universal.  I've seen some coins considered corroded or damaged by some, while others liked the toning.

Toning is a natural process, but some people try to artificially produce the effect to increase the appeal and value of coins.  Collectors of toned coins try to avoid "doctored" coins.

I have one coins which has discolored over the years.

Discolored Quarter - Toned or Corroded?

Some collectors consider this one corroded but others like it.

The tides are really small now.

Looks like maybe a bump in the surf in a few days.

More inflation news today, so you might expect continuing high gold, oil and other prices.

Next thing I expect is both sides blaming the other for bio and chemical weapons after news comes out about U.S. funded bioweapons research labs being discovered in Ukraine.  That means more chaos and likely increasing gold prices, not to mention food and many metals prices.  The nickel market is going crazy due to the war.

Pray for peace.
