The first session begins with a variety of escudos from Seville, then follows with more excudos from Mexico and other mints.  In between are some finger bars and other ingots. The session ends with silver cobs other old coins.

Here is an example.  Lot 73 is a nice 1715 Fleet gold bar, which already has a bid of $55,000.

I always recommend looking through auction listings to become more familiar with various items.  You want to be able to recognize finds.  I've made a lot of mistakes in the past by not recognizing what I just dug up.  I can't explain now all the ways that can help, but the more information you get from a find in the field, the better off you will be.

Have you ever heard of a rosary ring?  I did just recently.   They must not be real common.  I've don't think I've ever found one.  Here are a couple for sale online.

Rosary rings enable the wearer to pray by turning the ring around the finger and rubbing the various beads with the thumb and forefinger. These rings are used in such a way as to present a small embossed crucifix and a series of raised grains, which are used just like those of the traditional rosary.  A Rosary ring is an item that can be used as a replacement for the Rosary beads that usually have the 5 sets of 10 Hail Mary beads with the Our Father beads between each set.

It is a ring that has ten raised bumps which are to be used to say the ten “Hail Mary”S as on the Rosary. You usually move it around your finger as you complete each Hail Mary and usually from what I had seen there is also a small cross that would represent the “Our Father” bead. The Rosary ring includes the basics of what you would need to say the Rosary.

You'd have to say the Our Father and the three beginning Hail Mary's before you start meditating on the mysteries since those are not on the ring.

It's a great reminder to pray the Rosary daily.

I have even seen priests have this ring worn on their ring finger (left hand).
