I just received the above photo and following email.  Any guesses what it could be?

Hi - Been following your blog for years. Thank you for your hard work and informative posts. I always enjoy them.

If this is an appropriate mystery worthy of posting, it is taking up the entire length of a beach chair seat. Weighs about 15 pounds.

That is a difficult one, but somebody might recognize the shape. Let me know.

Presient the Screech Owl.

Great camo job.

This little screech owl found his way into my porch and spent the day sitting on the shutters.  He left at nightfall.    

It would take a keen eye to see him sitting quietly on an old tree.

Well, we are nearly half the way through 2023.   How time flies!

The only activity on the NHC map of the Atlantic is one new disturbance coming off Africa.

We still have a southwest wind today.
