John Brooks Beach Saturday Morning. |
I went out to check some beaches this morning. I stopped at John Brooks and found the one to two foot cut shown above.
There were not detectorists out at the time. It was a bit windy and rainy, but I like it like that.
I didn't detect long, but did for a few minutes. There weren't a lot of targets, but there were a few modern items below the cuts.
Here is the view to the south. It was about the same.

You can see a few layers of alternating sand and shells in the side of the but.

I also stopped at Frederick Douglass, which was similar. There was a one to two foot cut running for a good stretch.
No all the beaches on South Hutchinson Island were cut though. Below is Walton Rocks. As you can see, there was a lot of seaweed on that beach.

Below is a video I got showing what Turtle Trail looked like Saturday Morning.

Nothing much was happening at Turtle Trail. No significant cuts.

So far it looks like not much is happening on the Treasure Coast beaches. At least I didn't see much. Not even many detectorists this morning.

WOW! Now we have two named tropical storms and two named cyclones and additional tropical waves.
It is really active out there.

I don'ty know if I've ever seen a busier hurricane map, although at this time there are no hurricanes.
I checked out Ventusky not long ago, and it looks like the models have changed. It doesn't look like any of these will be a major threat to us. The Atlantic storms look like they will stay in the Atlantic.
Sally is bringing us the south winds and could be a problem for Louisiana.
The surf, according to MagicSeaWeed will be three to five feet tomorrow and then begin building again on Monday and Tuesday, reaching a peak late Monday or early Tuesday.
