9/15/20 Report - High Tide South Hutchinson Island Beaches This Morning. Beach Conditions and Tropical Activity.

Written by the Treasureguide for the exclusive use of the Treasure Beaches Report.

I went to South Hutchinson Island this morning near high tide.  At John Brooks beach the water was getting high on the beach - almost back to the dunes.  The water was hitting the beach directly and there were no cuts.  The slope was fairly steep and mushy.

Down at Walton Rocks, I caught a video where the waves were crashing on the front beach and pushing rocks and objects up the beach, but then pulling most of them back down again.

In the picture above you can see where the water was crashing and picking up sand, shells, etc.  That is how a lot of sand gets suspended and other small objects get picked up and pushed up the slope.

If you use this YouTube link, you can see it in full motion.

You'll also notice the waves breaking farther out.

Here is how the water was hitting at John Brooks.  Very pretty this morning.

Here is a still frame if you don't want to view the video.

The sun was catching the front slope and leaving a bit of a shadow above that.

And here is a short video clip looking south.

I also found the photos I couldn't find yesterday.  I actually shot them as videos, which is why I didn't find them.

Here is Turtle Trail yesterday.

The water was hitting the beach about the same way.  The slope was a little steeper than it is a lot of the time and the water had been back near the dunes.

Beach detecting conditions generally do not appear very good.  Any time you have water this high, though, there will be a few small spots that are better.  Those will generally be areas where rocks or other obstacles cause some localized erosion.

I posted a lot of videos today.   I probably won't use videos as much after I learn how to use them better.  I was exploring what I can do with my camera and how to post videos.   Sometimes still frames are better.  It depends upon what I want to show.

There are now seven tropical disturbances and storms in the Atlantic and Gulf.  No immediate threats to us though.

If you play around with Ventusky enough, you can almost get a Van Gogh painting out of it.

It looks like the surf will be decreasing for a few days and then maybe increasing again next week.u

Hope you like the videos.  You might especially want to watch the YouTube one showing the crashing waves and rush of water.

Happy hunting,
