Tropical Weather Outlook NWS National Hurricane Center Miami FL 800 AM EDT Tue Jul 13 2021 For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico: 1. A non-tropical broad area of low pressure has formed along a decaying frontal boundary several hundred miles south-southeast of Cape Race, Newfoundland. The low is producing a concentrated area of showers and thunderstorms over the eastern portion of the system. Although environmental conditions are only marginally favorable at this time, some slight development is possible during the next couple of days as it drifts generally southward over warmer waters. * Formation chance through 48 hours...low...10 percent. * Formation chance through 5 days...low...10 percent.
It doesn't look like much will come of that, but things could change.
The wind is more easterly today, but the tides remain moderate.

I was digging some more on the Indian River Ridge site. Hundreds of targets remain on that site. There just seems to be no end to the iron on that site.
My recent finds have been mostly more of the same: spikes, bolts, nuts, rail plates, etc., but also a couple little non-ferrous symbol-shaped things (shown below).

I found two of these. I couldn't tell from what depth they came. They were in dirt dug out with other objects. They are very thin and very light in weight. I've not found any revealing marks on them. Rings up as 16 on the Equinox meter.

I planned on talking more about discrimination and decision strategies today, but it is complex and detailed and not easy to explain. I'll try to get that together again some other time.
Happy hunting,
