1/13/22 Report - A Variety of Recent Treasure Coast Beach Finds: Old and New.

Written by the TreasureGuide for the exclusive use of the Treasure Beaches Report.

1937 Nickel Find.

Not a great find, but it is in great conditions and looks nice.  Except for the heavy patina caused by spending years on a saltwater beach, it is in great condition and looks like it was lost not long after it was minted.  There just isn't much wear.  Look at the high relief of the date and the lines on the feathers.  To me, it is a nice picture.

The other side isn't quite as pretty.

I don't use my conductivity numbers a lot to decide whether to dig or not, but before I dug this one, I thought it was a nickel.  It gave a 15, I think it was, on the Equinox.

I found some other coins and bits Tuesday.   They all had a little age to them.  Some more than others.

When you think about it, the 97.5 percent zinc pennies have been made since 1982, which is forty years!  Seems like it wasn't all that long ago that the zinc penny was a new scourge.

DJ found the following items.

Congrats DJ.  Thanks for sharing.

My hunt got cut short Tuesdsy, but I also went out Wednesday.

This small piece of worn silver was found
Wednesday.  It weighs less than a one reale, which it could be, but there are not remaining marks to help identify it.

Found in another location were these silver charms.  Theu appear modern and like they were not on the beach very long.  Look like they might have been on a bracelet.

So conditions improved, and some interesting finds were made.  Hopefully we'll get some more erosoin before long.

So there is one more increase predicted for Sunday.  Doesn't look like much, but if some of the dips don't completely fill in and then get eroded again, it might leave a few interesting spots.

I'll do more on that sometime soon.

Happy hunting,
