3/12/23 Report - Busy Tourist Weekend on Fort Pierce Area Beaches. Renourishment Continues. Found Gold.

Beach-Goers Enjoying Frederick Douglass Beach Saturday.

There have been a lot of beach-goers out lately. The weather has been warm and many snowbirds are in the area now. The more popular beaches are busy, but not crowded like the old days at Fort Lauderdale during Spring Break.

From the number of people visiting the Treasure Coast beaches, there should be a lot to pick up other than shipwreck coins, which aren't real easy to come by right now.  As I always say, "There is always some place to hunt and something to find."

Adapt with the times and seasons.  Speaking of which, I suppose you changed your clocks last night.  It is time to spring ahead.

As you can see, our increased surf hasn't done a lot for this beach.  It might be a good time to hunt modern stuff like the following 18K pendant with nice blue stone.

That is the kind of metal detecting I started with many years ago in South Florida.

A good number of the snowbirds are bringing metal detectors with them.  In the photo at the top of the post, you can see a Garrett Ace metal detector by the little pop-up tent where two fellows were resting in the shade and eating chips.

That is a nice view of the unspoiled beaches or Fort Pierce.  They evidently wanted to make a nice impression on the many visitors we get during our peak tourist season.  Maybe the snow birds like a more industrial vibe and will be drawn back to the area by the scenic wonders.

Looked like that had a big sifter set up down by A1A along with a bunch of other stuff.  Would be cool to be able to pump tons of sand from offshore and run it through a sifter like that.

As you can see the surf will be slowly decreasing next week.

Good hunting,
