Turtle Trail Late Thursday.

DJ visited Turtle Trail and Wabasso Thursday late afternoon and sent these photos.

In the previous post, I showed some South Hutchinson beaches that I visited.

Wabasso Beach Late Thursday Afternoon.

Wabasso Beach Thursday.

These beaches aren't very different from those I showed from South Hutchinson Island.

There has been very little cutting despite to the wind and large surf because the swells are hitting almost directly from the east.  There is still renourishment sand protecting the dunes.  You'll also notice the seaweed.

There is more to come, though.  Here is an good chart submitted by DJ.

And here is an article about a storm that will be passing over north Florida.

Weekend forecast: Potent storm to bring drenching rain, gusty winds to Florida, East | CNN

In my previous post, I showed a handful of finds.  I don't know if you could tell, but the vast majority of coins were dimes.  Another detectorist had detected in that area leaving small deep dimes behind, and also the silver ring.

You can sometimes tell by the distribution of finds if someone else has detected the area before you.    Often when someone else has detected the area you are in, you'll find a disproportionate number of nickels.  I could also see the other detectorists tracks and filled holes.  I don't mind when someone filters out the easier targets.  It does tend to reduce the number of coins etc., but often will leave some of the better finds that aren't as easy to detect.

Good hunting,
