What an amazing week!  The writing is on the wall.  Mene, mene, tekal, parsin (Daniel 5).  Couldn't be more applicable.

Looking at the surf predictions, we see the surf beginning to build Saturday night.  Notice the shifting winds.  There will first be the north wind, shifting a little to the east, then west and then a north/northwest wind again around Monday.  Too bad the tides are so small.

At least it looks like we'll get a few good days of rough surf.  That should be some fun.

Good time to get your equipment in order.

I took advantage of current conditions to do some eye-balling and found the best bottle that I've found for a while - a large pharmacy bottle from the McCreary Drug Co. of West Palm Beach.

An Old McCreary Drug Co. Bottle Find.

So far I haven't had any luck finding any McCleary Drug Co. bottles online.  It seems more rare than most, but maybe I just haven't done enough research yet.

I haven't put a date on this bottle yet, which I'd like to do, but I was lucky enough to find a picture of the drug store.   That was a real stroke of luck.

The photo is dated circa 1927.  The Drug store is the corner building at the bottom left of the photo.  You can see the sign.

Crescent Moon Maker's Mark.

It also has a maker's mark of a crescent moon on the bottom of the bottle.  I'd like to identify that company too.

The only bad thing about this bottle is a major chip on the lip.

I've sold some pharmacy bottles in the past.  I'd think this one should bring a few bucks, but that is not what makes it interesting to me.  It is a nice looking bottle that provides a lot of information.  I know where it came from and where it ended up.

When I started my walk, I spotted a couple broken necks from old stopper-top bottles, which encouraged me to continue.

I also eye-balled some metal objects, including a copper ashtray and a copper lipstick case.  All of those are signs that I should probably go back with a metal detector and I'd likely find more remains from the people and times of the past.

Matthew 16:2-3. “When evening comes, you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red,’ 3 and in the morning, ‘Today it will be stormy, for the sky is red and overcast.’ You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but you cannot interpret the signs of the times.

With Easter being just 15 days away, it seems we are building to a spiritual crescendo.  The images we see in the daily news explode with layers of meaning like a navel orange tree sensing the approach of Spring becomes suddenly covered with white blossoms.

Beneath the surface there is a rumbling.  Something stirs.  Something is about to bust out.  The time draws near.

Washington DC, surrounded by fences, razor wire and troops looking for some ghost enemy roaming the abandoned streets, betrays a guiltly conscience haunting itself in the manner of a Shakespearean play.

We see the "world's leader" falling three times up the steps, then embarrassingly turning to salute as if we are to pretend that we didn't see it at all.  We know our country is in trouble.

The country was embarrassed three times over this week.  In Alaska the communist Chinese boldy told us what their allies, the American left, has been telling us all year - that America is a racist country that has no moral authority to lecture China on anything.  And they continued, even if America had the moral authority, they no longer have the power to do anything about it.

While on the surface we cringe at the whited sepulchre of Washington DC, we know our help is elseware and prepare to celebrate the empty tomb.
