Old Bracelet In Great Shape by Joe D.

Here is what Joe had to say about his find shown above.

I did a few beach hunts this week, and came up with what is my best ever jewlery find! Probably not the most valuable, but it's beautiful, and in incredible condition considering the conditions and amount of old metal trash and demolished buildings remnants it was found in! And not a recent drop, based on how and where I found it!
So far in my research, it's either German or Italian made, based on the only identifying mark on it! 80% silver! And possibly Art Deco or Nuveau!👍👍

Nick A. found the following coins, which included some older ones.

Finds by Nick A.

Here is what Nick said.

Just thought I'd share my coin finds from the last few weeks. Took a break from the beaches for a while. Found a lot of clad coins, but I'd did find 5 wheat pennies and a 41 Merc (my first merc!). The Merc wasn't very deep, just under the sod, wheats were about a shovel deep. Three of the wheats came from the same 40 acre field, but a 100 yds apart.

The price of copper still rising, it takes 155 pre 1982 pennies to equal 1 pound copper. Copper now is around $4.10 a pound. Reminds me of the gold/silver melt.
Happy hunting!

(ANSAmed) - TEL AVIV, 09 MAR - An 11-year-old boy named Zvi Ben David found a 2,500-year-old figurine during a family outing in southern Israel, said the Israeli Antiquities Authority...

"The figurine that Zvi discovered is rare and only one such example exists in the National Treasures collection," said Oren Shmueli, district archaeologist in the western Negev, and Debbie Ben Ami, curator of the Iron Age and Persian periods in the Israel Antiquities Authority, in a joint statement.

Here is the link for more about that.

Concerning the pendant by Gary B. that I posted a few days ago,  I received some opinions from readers.  Most everybody seems to agree it looks like it is in the style of a Mexican Sun God or something like that, but everybody also believes that it is probably not old or valuable.  Joe D. and others, including myself  thought it looked like it was made of a pot metal.

One of the first things to do is try to determine the metal of a find.  Use a magnet and use a metal test kit if you have one.  Otherwise you might take it to a pawn shop or jerweler who will test it for you.  Trying to determine the identity of an item from a photo is difficult when you can't or feel the item, but it really doesn't look silver to me.

To me it just doesn't look old, but that is judging from a photo with very little information.  Like I've said before, keep things until you feel certain you know what they are.  Over time you might learn more.

Expect a couple more days of rough surf, but also east winds.

Happy hunting,
