What a difference a day makes. Yesterday the beach was eroded at Turtle Trail and there were many detectorists there. Today the picture was different. The opportunity lasted about one day or part of one day.
A couple days ago (Monday) here are the two short posts in front of the deck near the first flag pole south of Turtle Trail. Today they were covered. That means there was at least an additional foot of sand in that area since the photo was taken two days ago. Yesterday the posts were more exposed.
Here is the flag pole as it looked today.

Today there was a lot more sand than yesterday. There were barely any bags visible with the exception of some of the bags south of the second flag pole, as shown below.

So Monday, detecting conditions at Turtle Trail were not good, but the beaches eroded Tuesday, and by Wednesday had filled in again. Improved detecting conditions can last for one day or less, which was the case this week.

As you can see the surf will be decreasing and the next few days.
