Turtle Trail Sunday Morning at Low Tide. Photo by DJ. |
I was going to try to get out today to see what the beaches looked like but didn't. DJ though and sent all three of these photos from Turtle Trail as it looked yesterday.

DJ pointed out that there was some sand loss form the front beach and one detectorist working the low tide zeon.

Thanks much DJ.

Three tropical storms now! That doesn't happen very often. And the peak of hurricane season is coming.
I checked a few models on windy.com. As far as storm development, the most interesting thing I could find was the following clipping, which shows good development for Sunday 2 PM. That is the GFS model and the storm is still way offshore.

Some of the other models do not show this much development.
And even with this, it looks like the biggest surf we can expect is four feet, with a brief period of possibly as much as six feet.
So, in summary, it doesn't look like we'll get anything very big.
There is a lot going on though, so it could be complicated to predict. I'll be keeping an eye on this, and will perhaps get a look at the beach today. Right now we are getting some breezy weather on the Treasure Coast.
Today it looks like maybe a three foot surf.

” U.S. Homeland Security Investigations Special Agent in Charge R. Sean Fitzgerald said, “It is often extremely difficult to put a specific monetary value on an ancient historical coin. That notwithstanding, as tokens of the world’s oldest democracy, Greece’s cultural property — in HSI’s view — is considered priceless.”
Are the coins priceless, or is HSI clueless? There are numerous museum curators, coin dealers, and coin collectors who could help value any coins seized by HSI—if they were to ask...
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement reported returning cultural artifacts ranging from prehistoric fossils to artwork stolen from Jews during the Holocaust to more than 15 countries on 20 occasions in 2022 as part of its Cultural Property, Art and Antiquities Program.
The most expensive ancient coin and the the largest collection of coins its kind to be intercepted and repatriated by U.S. Customs and Border Protection may be making headlines, but collectors should be careful to ensure they won’t be next.

I'll keep checking on developing weather conditions and probably be back to add to this post later today.
Good hunting,
