Archaeologists have unearthed an amulet that is believed to be the earliest Christian relic found in Bulgaria and contains the first known reference of Christ in the region.
The amulet is a small silver sheet which dates to between the late 2nd century to early 3rd century AD...
The silver sheet amulet... was revealed to contain the sign of the cross and references inscribed in Greek.
The inscription gives mention of the archangels, Michael and Gabriel, and the “Guardian” – Christ. “Guardian” is written as +ΡЄICTOC, with the first letter of Christ’s name, X, rotated 45 degrees to form a cross.
...Early Christian’s often concealed their faith in fear of persecution, so the amulet was likely buried in secrecy by rolling the silver sheet to resemble an ingot...

From the Fisher organization via email...
The Dare is back out on the Atocha site after Tropical Storm Debby passed over! Captain Vince, and crew, have been working and moving up the line, heading towards the 1985 Memorial Day site. On the memorable "Memorial Day" in 1985 the crew discovered 7 gold bars and seven feet of gold chain and emerald jewelry pieces. The site is about halfway between the Atocha Main Pile area and the 9 Bronze Cannon site. The crew is very excited to work virgin territory, as we continue the quest, in search of the remaining artifacts of the Atocha.

The following is from Mark G.
I was hunting... this morning and this sea turtle washed in from the lagoon. I saw it floating for a while couldn’t make out what it was until it came ashore. I called FWP and they connected me with turtle rescue who came and pulled it out of the water and took some measurements and I assume picked it up to take it for autopsy.
Mark would also like to see what kind of fossils people have been finding on the beach.
Ler us know. Send photos if you can.

Not much to watch now. Debby way north and only one little x over by Africa which is expected to develop and head west. Too early to say.
Good hunting,
