John Brooks Beach Thursday Morning. |
I took a look at some of the South Hutchinson Island beaches this morning. Above is John Brooks. Tons of newly washed up sand.

The heavily sanded beaches were several miles south. I didn't manage to find any good hunting. Just picked up some modern coins.
Below is a nice view of the rolling surf.
Not much good at Fort Pierce South Jetty either. A few coins could be found down by the surf, but also tons of aluminum and junk.

Below is my take on yesterday. You might want to stop reading here if you don't want to hear anything contrary to what you want to believe. It is up to you.
Yesterday I started out by watching part of the Lion King movie on TV. Remarkable what they can do and how realistic it looks.
I've been on the topic of fakes lately, and that is a good example of the kind of things that can be done.
Mustafa and the jackals seemed all to familiar.
Don't jump to conclusions. I didn't say who they reminded me of. You can go either way with that, so don't get mad over your own interpretation.
Here is a picture of Washington, DC on fire.
Not yesterday. The picture is from this summer.
Protesters take over the Hart Senate Office Bldg.
Again, not yesterday. 2018 anti-Kavanaugh protest.
Below is the riot.
Again - not yesterday. This was the 1968 Democratic National Convention riot.
I keep hearing that Trump supporters stormed the capitol building yesterday, but I kept seeing the same techniques used by the professional instigators that I watched all summer on TV. Same black backpacks and helmets. A couple of the same faces even. Main difference - they put on red Trump hats or flags.
I had a colleague from Iran when I was teaching at a South Florida University who told me that Americans are simple. I knew what she meant to some extent, and she was right.
Things are not always what they seem. Detectorists should know you need to look beyond the obvious.
Four white charter buses arrived at the capitol building escorted by police yesterday. The video is on the internet. People with those black backpacks and helmets went right to the front of the mob, taunted, pushed barricades, and climbed walls, even broke windows with police shields. Where had I seen that technique before? In fact, I saw them last summer, and I saw those same techniques used by our intelligence agencies to incite rebellion in foreign countries.
All it takes is a red hat and a flag or banner, and people think they know whodunit.
Aren't we any more sophisticated than that? Don't be so easily fooled.
Critical thinking skills where are you.
