1/9/21 Report - Research During Sanded Beaches Leads to Nice Old Finds. Dollar Weakening And Other Trends,.

Written by the Treasureguide for the exclusive use of the Treasure Beaches Report.

Recent Finds By Mike T.

While the beaches are sanded in, you might do some research, like Mike T., and find some nice old items.  Here is an email I received from Mike T.

Since the beaches have been sanded in lately I have been following up on some research of old places to hunt here in Martin County and have spent a few days bouncing around checking out my research. Using all the aerial photographs and Google maps I’ve turned up some good stuff this week and a buddy of mine and I have had a couple of good hunts turning up some old tokens, toys and wheat pennies. Apparently tokens were very popular back in the day for Company promotions. The one I got yesterday is from the Standard Paint Company it is circa 1910. A couple of the tokens are aluminum one of them is an old lumber company commissary coin and the other is from the Shell Oil “Man in Space” game back in 1969 some very cool history there!
It just shows that homework can pay off if you do the research and follow up on it! Hope you have a peaceful new year and thanks again for all of your posts!

Below are some more of Mike's finds.

That tank looks to me like it might be WW I era.

I always like finding vintage or antique toys. That one looks to be in nice condition too.

Those tokens are in great condition.  I've seldom found old tokens that looked that nice.  Usually they are more corroded.

Congrats Mike!  Thanks for sharing.

The Chinese yuan is getting stronger as the dollar weakens.  That means your dollar buys less in Chinese goods.  You might consider buying yuan.

For more about important trends, here is a good article.

So what does all of that have to do with treasure hunting?  A lot.  How are you going to protect the assets you've managed to accumulate?  You need to know what is going on so you can make good decisions.  Should you invest in a new gas guzzler for your detecting trips or will there be new taxes on gasoline that will make a hybrid or electric vehicle a better choice.   Should you keep gold and tangible assets?  Will gold be a safe haven or will it decrease in price as people move to alternatives like Bitcoin?  How should you protect the meager assets you've managed to accumulate?  Is the government going to make more freedom-restricting rules and regulations?  etc.

Since they are in already in high-gear attempting to cleanse alternative viewpoints, here is one source you might check if you are interested in alternative points of view.

And in case you doubted that left-wing groups were in on the Capitol Hill storming as I suggested the other day, here is a member of Insurgence (a left-wing activist group) that was clearly photographed and interviewed. Of course he says he was only there to document what was going on. Probably because he knew it wouldn't make the news or anything, so he came all the way from Utah to get some pictures.

We are getting a northwest wind, but the primary swell is northeast.  Nonetheless, the surf is small.

I like to watch the zoo programs on Animal Planet.  The animals get excellent free health care, good nutritious food, and free shelter.  They even occasionally get some new toy for mental stimulation.  But the zoo keepers don't live there.  We are quickly moving towards a similarly bifurcated society.

If you ever wondered what fact-checking really is, you should know that the verb check has more than one meaning.  It can mean to slow down or stop, as it is used in hockey.   In current useage, the most accurate defintion of fact checking would be stopping (or checking)of facts.

Happy hunting,
