11/20/20 Report - Treasure Coast Beaches Still Producing Some Older Finds. 4 - 7 Foot Surf Tomorrow.

Written by the TreasureGuide for the exclusive use of the Treasure Beaches Report.

Wabasso Before Low Tide Friday Afternoon.

I'm not going to get into a lot of detail tonight.  I got a late start, but some of the beaches, including some that are quite a few miles apart are giving up older finds.  The shipwreck stuff that I know about is mostly lead, including lead shot and other bits of lead, and some spikes, but there are also some older modern finds being found.

In the past two days I've seen several different beaches where the orange/brown sand is very near the surface.  Some of those beaches are in the Vero area, while others are on South Hutchinson Island.

Turtle Trail hasn't changed a whole lot in the past couple of days.

Lead is still being dug at Turtle Trail as well as some other beaches.  There were three detectorists at Turtle Trail Friday afternoon.

Here is a little video clip showing Turtle Trail as it looked Friday afternoon.

Here is another buffalo nickel that surfaced Friday afternoon.

You might be able to see the date on that.

Again, a lot of the recent finds, including both the older lead shot and the older US coins were coming from areas where the orange/brown sand was near the surface.

Here are a silver ring and small silver charm that were also found Friday afternoon.

Al C. found another shipwreck spike and a couple other nice finds, which I'll show some time soon.

My main point tonight is that conditions aren't bad.  I'd rate the Treasure Coast beach metal detecting conditions as a 2 and would not be surprised if some cobs popped up recently.  The orange/brown sand and the older US finds are a good sign.

I was surprised how many targets were still out there on some of the heavily hunted shipwreck beaches.

Tomorrow the surf will be a little higher than it was on today.  After that it will start to decrease again.

The wind will be stronger tomorrow but from about the same direction.

Happy hunting,
