Reale And Musket Balls Found by Terry S.

It is time for some finds now.   The reale and musket balls shown above were recently found by Terry S.  I know of a few reales found lately.  This one has very nice detail showing.  Terry said the reale was found when the musket balls were being found.

He sent me a photo of another find that I'll post tomorrow or some day soon.  It goes with some other stuff that I plan on posting soon.

A few days ago I showed you a nice collection of shipwreck spikes found by Al C.  He found another, but this one, instead of having the kind of head that we usually see has a round oval-shaped head.

Here is the head of the new spike find.  It has a square shank.

Al also found this Masonic badge or pendant.

Al said, Can you imagine if the found the Masonic piece on Oak Island! It would be a prime time special!

He also found the following interesting piece.

Below is a silver splash ingot found by Al C.  I showed it before when it was still uncleaned.

Below are two views of the same ingot.  On the left is the marked side, and on the right is the other side.

Al said he could see part of a cross on the ingot.

I showed another silver spalsh ingot that was found recently in it's uncleaned state.  It still hasn't been cleaned.  Maybe I'll show it in stages.   B

Below is an image of a similar silver ingot that was sold in ICollector.  I'm showing it to show how similar ingots were marked.

So there were some very nice finds made on the Treasure Coast recently.  I wouldn't be surprised if a few more pop up, but the beaches seem to be deteriorating.

Here is what John Brooks looked like this morning.

John Brooks Sunday Morning.

The beach in front of the access was mushy.  The cut was still there.  One fellow who gridded in front of the cut didn't find anything this morning.

The surf will be decreasing tomorrow, but Monday we'll get a little more north direction to the swells, but that won't last long.  I'm decreasing my beach conditions rating again.

The tides are not big now either.

Overall it has been a pretty good fall season for metal detecting on the Treasure Coast.

Happy hunting,
